About Area

Set at the edge of Cavite and surrounded on three sides by Batangas, Tagaytay City enjoys cool weather all year round and boasts of the best view of Taal Lake and Volcano. However, the tourist zone centered around Tagaytay also includes areas like Silang, Amadeo, and Alfonso in Cavite, and Talisay, Laurel, and Taal in Batangas, also areas enjoying the same cool weather as the famed summer city. In fact, due to Tagaytay's higher properties prices, these areas have also become attractive options.

Originally a cattle-buying station, Tagaytay became a popular destination as early as the 1930s as road conditions improved and a town center was established. It was however during the late 1980s that the city got better attention and government guesthouses such as the now abandoned Palace in the Sky was built. While the government facilities ceased to function, the void was replaced by private resorts and hotels that flocked the city due to the still increasing popularity.

It was towards 2010 where property developers took serious attention of Tagaytay's potentials and built condominium developments. Condominium developments became popular as the burgeoning middle class also wanted to buy a weekend home in the city without the extra expenses incurred by a land property, including land taxes and maintenance. However, it was the rising popularity of AirBnB and other short transient apps that gave the condo industry in Tagaytay a boost.
